Autumn is bringing a lot of great beauty trends along with it, among which are some divine nail trends: from the most imaginative nail art to the most discreet nude hues, nails were painted in a variety of inspiring forms. Read on to discover which nails trends we loved most…
Innocent nudes: Spotted at Chloé, Stella McCartney and Donna Karan, nude shades looked breathtaking on the runway. They are one example of how less can sometimes be more. At JolieBox, we love nudes and believe they are the go-to colour for any occasion. This trend fits well with any look, but we think it is as its best when combined with a nude complexion. Try opting for a soft peachy colour, such as OPI Nail Lacquer in Breakfast in Bed, £9.00 (1).
Deep reds: We fell head over heels with the nails at Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera. From an almost black cherry to the most intense blood red, the new variety of shades are much more mature than this summer’s fun and flirty selection. Do not shy away from reds, which are symbolic of femininity and look great when matched with a red lip. Go for a perfect ruby red, such as Essie Nail Polish in Bold and Beautiful, £8.95 (2).
Bright metallics: this trend is a bit hit this season, and has cropped up amongst the biggest brands: from Chanel to Butter London, the new metallics come in a whole array of colours, from the most vivid to the most demeure. Look to the pops of colour at D&G or the otherworldly silvers at Alexander McQueen for inspiration. Our personal pick is Chanel Le Vernis in Péridot, £17.50 (3), a dazzling mixture of yellow and green to pair with a metallic smoky eye.
Glitter: if metallics are not quite daring enough for you, why not give glitter a go? We love Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in Happy Birthday, approx £14.00 (4), which to us looks like the ideal way of adding a colourful, jewel-like sparkle to your fingertips. Combine it with a streak of liquid black liner on your upper eyelids for a touch of instant glamour.
